The municipality of Vila Franca de Xira wanted Avenue Avenida 25 de Abril to combine a modern look during the day with top quality lighting at night. By installing UrbanLED, this avenue then began to distinguish itself from other streets, because this combination helps bring life to the night, while providing pleasing aesthetics during the day.

In a presentation session which was attended by, among others, President Maria da Luz Rosinha and Councilman Alberto Mesquita, the characteristic of UrbanLED that most stood out was the reduction in lighting pollution. Avenue Avenida 25 de Abril has tall buildings on both sides, so a clear difference between conventional lights that flood residential areas, and LED technology that allows directing the light to the plan that should really be illuminated, is noticeable.

By joining the "LED Street" project, the municipality of Vila Franca de Xira has become the 2nd city in the district of Lisbon to join the EnergiaViva LED community following the footsteps of Torres Vedras.
