Inserted in a landscape of rare natural beauty, the municipality of Lagoa committed itself to providing street lighting with LED technology on Rua 25 de Abril Street in the parish of N. Senhora do Rosário, in an attempt to integrate the urban lighting in an energy efficient concept combined with a modern image.

Lagoa, therefore, became the first county in Azores to adopt LED technology for street lighting.

With this reclassification, the high colour return index, characteristic of LED technology, has brought a new dimension in the integration of lighting in the city, improving an area that distinguishes itself from others through its beauty.
The integration of LED lamps, which combines a design regulated by high standards of quality and functionality with savings in energy consumption of 60%, remains one of the main principles of EnergiaViva, thus contributing to an improvement of the lighting in public spaces.
